Fossil safari

hello all,

the time has come for me to start planning my first big fossil safari! I'm located in Canada and have done a few dig sites in various locations of different provinces but I'm ready to take this show on the road! I'm looking to travel to other countries to try my hand at exploring what they have to offer! has anyone else ever done this before? if so can you recommend a tour group that specializes in these types of things? I'm physically fit and not afraid of difficult locations. I'm interested in all types of fossils and since this will be the first of many trips like this I can go pretty much anywhere to start adding to the collection.

 

Right now I have been looking at morocco as it seems to have a rich supply and isn't to difficult to bring your finds home. I am open to any suggestions or if this has been asked already please feel free to link thoe threads to this one. Thanks everyone!

 

( also wouldn't be opposed to meeting others from this site in their home countries! that would be fun having a local to show me around and help me to avoid the scams and fakes! )

If doing the Morocco thing...You may want to talk with @Haravex he has taken several trips into the Moroccan fossil fields, and @Tidgy's Dad he lives in Morocco and may be able to point you to a reputable tour guide.

Ok first thing is when are you looking at going? You might be physically fit but 50c is the height of summer doesn't just cause discomfort but can also cause motorbike tyres to overheat in the summer time a lot of the miners do work with camels taking rich Arabs to the desert and burying them up to the neck in sand for health benefits. Again times and dates or just drop me a pm I can help put you in contact with friends I have over there.

Morocco is on my bucket list. It may be many many year till I visit but good to know we have folks with some knowledge and connections! Thanks
