Butch Johnson
Found this rock on our place in southwest Colorado. It’s very different from most rocks here. With a little research I found we are located in the middle of the Morrison Formation! I’m interested to see if anyone could help identify it. Fossil or cool rock? Thanks for your input. Butch Johnson
My pictures must be too high of resolution, I’ll try to figure out how to post more.

piranha
Fossil petrified wood, the Morrison Formation has tons of it. Congrats!
ynot
Agreed, looks like palm wood. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." Carl
Technically not "wood" but almost certainly petrified plant stem, likely palm or fern. I'm leaning more towards fern - something like Tempskya. It's not a great match for palm fibers.
