Brule Formation Teeth ID Assistance

Recommended Posts

Hi all, trying to get some id help with some teeth from the Brule Formation, Nebraska.  Most i think are oreodont, mesohippus and similar.  Unfortunately dentition is not my forte, so any assistance would be appreciated.  Tried to take photos from three different angles to help.

Paul you are correct most specimens are oreodont (looks like Merycoidodon) and Mesohippus.Set 1 ,upper teeth are oreodont, lower teeth are Mesohippus. Set 2 and 5 are all Mesohippus (it is not impossible that some of the teeth are a small species of Miohippus but you can't tell them apart from lower teeth alone).Set 3 are partial maxillae of oreodnt and Mesohippus.Set 4 is a

lower jaw fragment with a dp2 of a juvenile  Subhyracodon, a rhino.

Oreodont?

Comparing the photos to the section of Oreodont I have from the Orella member, I'd agree with that for a few of the pieces for sure!
