Any ideas on this textured oval blob?

Any ideas on what this might be? It's about 25cm long on a rock in a parking lot in Oakville, Ontario. Looks nothing like the local rocks and surely brought in from elsewhere. Much of the local area is Ordovician or Silurian, but who knows from how far it came.

I think it is a concretion.

The rock does not look like it has traveled very far from its formation.

It is suggestive, but I don't see anything in the photo that I could definitely identify as biological.

I am also having my doubts. It is just such a striking feature...not used to geological details like that.

Hang around here long enough and you will be amazed at the tricks mother nature tries to fool us with.

I think, there might be something related to the spheroidal weathering / onion-like structures.

Thanks to all who contributed to the analysis of this ultimately uninteresting "unfossil" !
