Odd horseshoe shaped fossil

Hello all, This strange fossil is from the Platteville of Beloit Wisconsin and I have no idea what it is. It is fairly well preserved with a fine granular texture to it. Any ideas are welcome!

My guess would be the trilobite Dolichoharpes reticulata in a dorsal position.

Looks similar. here is the ventral side of the trilobite shown. I had to flip it over and have it prepped from the other side.   You can see the horseshoe at the front of my trilobite.
