Strange shaped stone or something interesting.

Hi Everyone,

I found this strange shaped object at Seatown, Dorset and was wondering if anyone thought it could be something of interest. It stood out from everything around it.

It was in a number of sections. On some sections there is some sort of crust, there are what look like shells on another area and in when looking at a cross section of the broken parts there is a defined orange centre.

Should I see if the grey material comes off easily?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

G.

These all look like concretions, or nodules.

I was thinking concretion at first as well but this is certainly interesting. I'd almost say that these are bivalves, but the shape of the top one is somewhat enigmatic.

Yeah these look very suspicious to me as well...Looks like a partial articulated set of bivalve shells on the top and a possible separate smaller valve below...Interesting for sure!
