Preventing pyrite rot

Not sure if this belongs here or the minerals topic, but I would like help with preserving pyrite.

I have a fossil from Penn Dixie that has some nice pyrite on it, don't know if the stuff from this location falls victim to pyrite disease but I am looking for a way to prevent it.

Any tips are appreciated,

I have seen a couple of helpful tips there.

Do you know if submerging it in something like mineral oil would help?

It can't hurt.

I keep all of my pyrite mineral and pyritized fossil specimens in plastic bags along with a small cloth bag containing silica gel dessicant to help keep moisture down.
