Can anyone tell me what this tooth came from? they say it’s a type of dromeosaur/raptor but it doesn’t look like a raptor to me it’s 100 million years old and is 2.8 cm long but it doesn’t say where it came from.

It really looks to be based on the measurements you have given, and abelisauridae tooth from kem kem beds but a couple of better in focus pictures would help to 100 percent confirm this.

I don't think there's much hope of getting a positive ID without a locality for the tooth. Like Haravex said, a few more photos might be able to narrow it down.

I'd say this one looks more Kem Kem abelisaurid than dromaeosaurid too, based on the colour, size and the distal edge being more or less perpendicular to the base.

When you have time, could you take a photo of:

- The other side of the tooth

- The front (mesial) and back (distal) faces where the serrations face forward

- One of the base facing toward the camera (cross-section).

Also, if you could get a close up shot of the serrations on the front and back edges too, that'd be great.

With the tooth being that slender it does indeed look like it might be Abelisaurid.

There are at least two different species known from the Kem Kem beds, but they are not (yet) described.

Best labelled as 'Abelisaurid indet.'
