grandpa Posted August 27, 2019 Share Posted August 27, 2019 (edited) As I understand it, only the male tortoise has the spurs. They are used to hold on to the female during mating. I'll have to check that out to see if I've been misinformed, but that's why I specified Male. Think I was in fact misinformed.
