This is extremely exciting for the paleoanthropological community. Whereas often new species (like the recently described H. luzonensis) don’t really change the tree all too much, this skull has the potential to really change how we view Australopithecines and their evolution. I cannot wait to see the answers to all the questions that it generates, and the answers it will hold in the future.
