Welcome to the Forum from Arizona.

If it is an inoceramid shell, then it should be calcite and have a columnar prismatic structure. Does the fossil have that structure? See second photo from R. L. Squires blog: http://rsquirespaleo.blogspot.com/2018/07/?m=1

My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.

That's  a clam or oyster shell. I find ton of them here in Dallas creeks.  Some of them are 24 inches long or wide.
