PA Pennsylvanian and Ordovician hunt 9-7-19

My wife and I went for an afternoon drive Saturday to see if we could find a few places I had been reading about a couple hours away.  The first stop was Mcintyre Mountain, a Pennsylvanian plant fossil location looking through the tailings from a large but long abandoned mine town, like 150 years abandoned.

The drive in was a 4 mile dirt road up the mountain. Luckily for us the majority of it was well maintained and the scenery was beautiful.

this crinoid mortality chunk, hard to call it a plate when its 5 inches thick, is filled almost all the way through with densly packed crinoid stems. Not sure how to approach making it a display piece. May need to wait until i get a micro abraider

Nice finds and report!

The last item here looks like an Isotelus pygidium, to me.

Maybe @piranha  will stop by to confirm or deny.

What an abundance of fossils for one day trip out!  Congrats on all of the beautiful finds - I especially love the plants and the orthoconic nautiloid chunk

Wonderful finds! The colors make me think of fall. I love the great spectrum of colors that Pennsylvanian plants are preserved in around the world.
