Hello there all! 

 

I picked this oddity up last weekend. Since then I've been staring at it and... well... I can't make head nor tails of it.

 

Seems to be soooomething?

 

Found on the Yorkshire coast, along ice age clay cliffs :)

Probably is an easier fit. I just happened to have recently moved a brachiopod in my collection that looks much like it.

Piddocks are pretty gnarly! On the third image there's still some rock like substance in one of the holes?

 

More likely to be bivalves then?

 

Also thanks all! Could totes be plant material. It looks like it runs through the block? Some kind of bark maybe? :D

I don't think they're fossil moulds, though piddock may be wrong (they are common around there though). Maybe mini nodules that have weathered out? There seems to be some different rock in here too:
