I found this on a family vacation this August on the beach at Wildwood Crest, NJ in the ocean. It is 4.5 cm long, 2.5 cm wide and .75 cm tall. Does anyone know what this is?

It is a Priodontus-sea robin skull. Find these in Myrtle Beach SC as well. Nicely preserved fossil. love the bone architecture. Welcome to the Fossil Forum. It fun finding fossils on the beach.

I’m not sure if it’s fossil but it’s definitely sea robin skull

beach renourishment brings up fossil and sub fossil items. Without beach renourishment most of us on the east coast would find few fossils at the beach. There are quite a few exceptions to this statement of course.

It's phosphatized, so very likely a fossil
