Is this a fossil?

I found this on Myrtle Beach. I am not sure if it is a fossil. Help ID. It is black and orange. It has multiple layers.

Does not look like a fossil to Me, but it is hard to make out any detail in the dark pictures.

Try taking the pictures again with a dark grey background so the object will have a better exposure.
