Gorilla Cart

I stopped at a local home improvement store to pick up a gift certificate for a neighbor whose birthday it is today, she loves this store.

When I walked inside I saw this Gorilla Brand cart reduced from $39.00 down to $10.00 and had to grab one. An associate stated that they were just reduced and that she set one aside for herself.

This cart art has two wheels, a telescoping handle and the mess around it is of a super strong material. In addition it has a couple loops where you can hang a hammer and / or other tools and it is collapsible. This will work well for fossil collecting and you can even fit a 5 gallon bucket on the inside.

Great find in my opinion.

@stats Rich- I know I might see you Saturday morning, I bought two of these and if you want one I will only sell it to you for $35.00- lol. But seriously, if you want it just give me the $10.00, I think you would like it- otherwise I will hold onto it because I could always use it- let me know.

I recognize the printed price tag. Might have to swing by to check out our local store.

How do you feel it would roll in rough terrain?

Do that and hopefully you can find one.

I imagine it would roll just fine.... right about the time you had it full of rare fossils & the handle slipped out of your hand.

Accomplishing the impossible means only that the boss will add it to your regular duties.

The bigger carts are handy too, and go over rough terrain great. They can also completely dump their contents out, which is a helpful feature for me. It can hold up to 1,200 lbs.

Wow- that is very cool and I have seen something like that at one of the ESCONI trips to the Braceville Shaft Mine.

Done for $10, I will pay up for it too.  Cool device!

Cheers,

Rich

I am an exstreamly honest guy, so honest that ive made some people angry.  Not my intent.  If this works for you, then great!  But for me, I would have destroyed that in the first trip I took it on but I also was finding some rather large rocks (hundreds of lbs worth)  with fossils inside and some with very sharp edges.  Good luck my freind.

I understand, but this is not “our fathers mess cart”, this thing seems to be super strong and “Gorilla Proof”- time will tell and when I find that hoard of T-Rex in the desert, we will see if it stands the test of time. Lol

Back when I was out in the field collecting, whenever I needed something to carry my fossils I would just bring a friend. I would tell them to wear something with lots of pockets. :default_rofl:

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

Looks like a good deal and a nice cart! Thanks for sharing. I’ll have to check my local store. :dinothumb:

I use one of the below gorilla carts on a weekly basis and love it. It’s rated to hold 1000 lbs. I have 600-800 lbs. constantly sitting in it at any given time. Besides some dent and dings from my bad driving skills, it has held up very well. It doesn’t dump like Heteromorph’s does, but the sides come off to make a flat cart.

  • 2 weeks later...

Nice! I've seen folks out at Pit 11 with carts and thought about picking one up- carrying the concretions out is always a pain (although the worst part is the bushwhacking and the cart definitely won't be able to come with for that).
