Hi,

I am not able to attach files to public responses, but I can in MP (what I did for Pixpaleoski). I think it’s been like that for several years... Can an administrator help me ? Thanks.

Coco,

You can email it to me, and I can attach it for you.

What size is the file?

I love how different the species representations are from one site to another, even though they're all relatively close to each other. Very interesting!

Indeed! Everything is very small-scale, like everything in Austria :D. Small country - small habitats - small fossils. Okm people are normal-sized... ;).

it's a schell belongs Ranellidae- Cymatiinae, genus Monoplex

Thank you, highly appreciated! There is a very similar looking Triton/Cymatium affine Deshayes, 1832 described from the Vienna basin and also mentioned from the Styrian basin. Is this the same as Lampusia/Monoplex affinis Deshayes, 1833 (see PBD)? These genera names are always changing, very confusing!

WoRMS has Triton affinis Deshayes, 1835 as synonym of Monoplex corrugatus (Lamarck, 1816)!

Thanks!

Hi,

Ken explained to me how to drag a photo or document with two windows open and it worked in PM. I’m trying here to see how that works, but then we would have to keep talking about the original subject, I don’t want to pollute the messages ;)

Hi,

This one is a Crassispira sp.

We have here in deposits very similar to yours, a species very close but still different

Best regards

Thanks, @niber!

Your Crassispira very much resembles Crassispira obeliscus (Desmoulins, 1842) that we have here around St. Josef.

Have a look at page 33 (Fig. 22) and Fig. 10.

M31 s.28-35 Wetzelsdorfberg low.pdf

I did not recognize the gastro in question as Crassispira... (I am very, very poor in fossil determination!)

Do you know the species of your Crassispira?

Thanks!

Franz Bernhard

Hi Franz

Thanks for the pdf, very interesting to compare with the fauna of us from langhian
I do not know precisely the species of my Crassispira, I am not a specialist of faunas from Central Europe other than the muricids

I must have missed this thread some but I am glad I was better late than never. Some very beautiful molluscs and I like your presentation of the specimen.

Hello to all paleontology fans,
I would like to thank Mr. Franz Bernhard from Graz (Austria) for his paleontological work, which he does with passion, perseverance and shares his results with others and thus helps to make paleontology, this beautiful natural discipline, known to the public. It is evident in his work that paleontology is a matter of the heart for him. Many thanks and best wishes that he enjoys robust health and that paleontology continues to bring him joy. I will be glad if he shares it with us.
