Cretaceous New Jersey Fossils

Here are some fossils I found while sifting and scavenging the Brooks of New Jersey.  The fossils here are either found at Big Brook or Ramanessin  Brook and from the Cretaceous period.

This one found recently at Big Brook after hurricane Dorian.

Mosasaur perhaps ? I am no expert on New Jersey fossils so perhaps more knowledgeable people will chime in.

Check those matrix pieces!

Here's one I couldn't believe I actually saw. I found this one at Ramanessin Brook. It's a Branchial tooth from a Pycnodont fish if I'm not mistaking.

That's what I was going to say. I'm pretty sure you are correct. And a fairly nice one for a Brook find. It was just sitting on top of a sandy bank saying take me home.

Pycnodont fish- Anomaeodus phasolus(top middle)

Porbeagle shark-cretodus-plicatolamna(left,right)

Goblin- scapanorhynchus texanus(bottom)

If I got that right...

The vert looks more like plesiosaur, doesn't mosasaur have to adhere to ball-and-socket form dactor?

The picture isn't too clear but there is a concave and convex side. I'm thinking it's mosasaur but, plesiosaur would be good.

I'm thinking the top pic IS a mosasaur vert. It's in rather good condition for a New Jersey mosasaur vert.

Like the color on those reddish teeth.

Thanks, it's amazing how much color can come out of a creek.

Thanks, the storm that came by a couple days before must have washed it out.

Well, if convex, then mosasaur:)

This pic might show the convex side a little better..
