hamman88 Posted October 10, 2019 Share Posted October 10, 2019 I'm spending 9 days exploring a wide corridor between Vegas and Albuquerque. One fossil I'll certainly never be able to find in Florida and have always liked are ammonites. Are there any recommended legal areas to hunt for these in the area? What tools should I bring? I can say however that there were some very long desert hikes involved, which felt longer on the return leg since many ammonites are encased in heavy concretions. We visited no spots where we could drive right up to abundant ammonites, but I like to earn my treasures while visiting new areas, so it was a great trip. 1 Grüße, Daniel A.
