Big brook trip

Hi. Thought I would share my two trip experience/finds to big brook. I live about an hour away so I get to go as much as I want during the week. I went last Thursday and this past Monday. Thursday was not good at all. I got a flat tire and ended up changing my tire in the BB parking lot. I had just enough time to find one shark tooth because it was getting dark.

I went back this Monday to redeem myself. Here are my findings:

i know top left is a vertebrae

I thought I might of had something good but then the dried out and they all look like snarge

row 1 is gobblin

row 2-3 are crow  I believe kaupi

row 4 is mackerel but not sure which species

row5 I have no clue haha

row 6 sand tiger

I believe this is a fish tooth or claw.  Not sure

Any corrections to my IDs would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Also if anyone is interested in going to BB during the week it would be great to have company. I can be there from10-1 Monday through Friday. Just need about a week notice. PM if anyone is interested

Last one is a broken sawfish rostral "tooth" (spine?), I believe.

In your second photo, the black objects in the upper right appear to be broken pieces of callianassid propodus or carpus. (ghost shrimp)

Thank you for the feedback.  I thought the black objects where something just was not sure.  Thanks so much for taking a look!

The second trip was way better than the first.  Still need to find my first mosasaur tooth!  Planning on going back next Wednesday.

Nice finds.

In the first pic, it is a Chondrichthyan vertebra, a Turritella sp., 2 Choristothyris plicata, and a gastropod of some sort.

The second pic is all concretions.

The last pic is the crown of an Ischyrhiza mira.

The tooth in row 5 is most likely an Archaeolamna, but is too worn to be completely sure. The last tooth in row 4 is a lower lateral goblin, not a Cretalamna.

Those black pieces look like ghost shrimp bits to me.

You think concretions though?

Maybe pictures of the other sides would clear it up?

More pics never hurt, but they are definitely concretions.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think it’s a concretion. It really looked cool when I first found it. Then it dried out and not so cool. Haha
