North Texas creek finds

Hey guys! I'm up here in North Texas looking for fossils and these two things have me stumped. Any ideas?

Take another look at the first specimen.  Notice that the crystals around the edge are translucent, root-beer colored.  I think the first one is calcite.  Agreed?

Whatever, it is an attractive specimen.

Yes, I agree. First one does look like weathered calcite.
