Crocodile Tooth?

Hi all,

Just wanted to ask around and see if anyone had an answer for this.

I purchased this tooth, labeled as an extinct crocodile species - Crocodylus/Kentisuchus Spenceri.

Upon doing some research, I find myself confused - Wikipedia says that this species has only been found in England, France & Ukraine. My specimen is from Morocco.

If it isn’t the species I mentioned, what is it?

Specimen is just over an inch long.

Thanks,

Nate

Croc, Probably Elosuchus cherifiensis

Thanks for the reply.

How would one go about differentiating this from the rounded teeth of the mosasaur species prognathodon currii? They seem to look pretty similar.

Interestingly, this specimen claims to be from the Khouribga region of Morocco. My newfound understanding is that Elosuchus fossils have not been found in that area...

Attached is a screenshot of the particular mosasaur species I mentioned. One of the rarer mosasaur fossils to find, but I understand that they’ve been found in the Khouribga region & not Kem-Kem, where one would be more likely to find the Elosuchus. It shares the round & blunt characteristics of my specimen.

You just indicated Morocco so I assumed Kem Kem.  I think the morphology of the two is different

Yep, my bad, forgot to mention specifics.
