Gala01
Please can someone help identify pictured fossil. We found 2 of similar shape, with outer shape resembling a stingray, but the spine in the middle seems to be a much simpler structure then that of a stingray
Fossildude19
Welcome to the Forum. This could be either a concretion, or an infilled burrow. The mineral staining is similar to what I find little nodules or concretions in. Gala01
Interesting. We found 2 near each other with identical shaping of outer triangular form and the middle body. The lower part of the tube had become detached, so my son and I had saved it to take a closer look at home. Thank you Tim, I really thought it was something more than a concretion, but then again, I know nothing about fossils

I don't recognize it as anything I am familiar with. The shapes and colors around it are not fossils. They lack the bilateral symmetry expected to be present in a skate or ray fossil, even if it had been distorted during preservation. The proportions are not correct. The layering near the bottom right is also saying "not organic" to me. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
