You titled it "Fossil hunting in central Florida" but your post is about an ammonite cross section in a piece of decorative tile in a washroom in Colorado. I do not get it. Such ammonites are common in certain limestone formations in Germany that are used for building tiles. Occasionally they are imported to the US and may show up in unexpected places. At some point this winter, a bunch of us Florida fossil hunters are going to get together and do a group hunt on the Peace River. The exact timing and details are still up in the air at the moment, but you can keep updated on the developments on this forum thread - The river is still running too high and fast to hunt for now.
