Looks to be a claw core.  Of what I know not.

According to your ruler, that would put it about 17mm.

Not crab claw. Crabs do not have boney cores in their claws as anyone that eats crab can tell you. :drool:

Al Dente, we have areas around here where fossil barnacles got absolutely huge.
