Trilobites from China

Manospondylus

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what species this is? It's a mud trilobite from Hunan province and more specifically in Xiangxi. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks very similar to the Moroccan Colpocoryphe with smooth pygidial flanks, or, if that's weathered, then Flexicalymene.

Anyway, it's a Calymenid.

I also agree with @Tidgy's Dad, my first impression is it is a calymenid.

Yes, that one looks like one of the common Flexicalymene trilobites that come out of Morocco. Are you sure it's from Hunan? Did you find it yourself or acquire it from someone else who might have given you incorrect information?

I didn't find it myself so it might be incorrect information. The seller thinks it is a Coronocephalus but im not sure on that.

It is not Coronocephalus or I'm a budgie's uncle.

Of course you're not. We all know that you're a tortoise's father :D
