Palisades
Found this fossil in my yard. I am located at the southern edge of the Cincinnati arch in Madison county Kentucky. Most of the rocks are Ordovician Limestone in this area. Can anyone tell me about this fossil?
connorp
Looks like an orthoconic nautiloid.
erose
It is a cross section thru a beautiful orthoconic cephalopod.maybe even unusual for the length. Shorter fragments are more common. The far right end that doesn’t show septa was probably the living chamber.
Tidgy's Dad
Nice find! I agree it's an orthoconic nautiloid. Hello, and a very warm welcome to TFF from Morocco. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
