Fezouata Endless Fossil's Identification

Recommended Posts

Hello dear fellows,

Any ideas about this one from Fezouata Shale? It has 2,8 x 2,0 cm.

A Brachiopod, a Hyolith, a Chrondrophore, a Clam???

Thanks in advance.

I love the Fezouata, great specimen. :)

The bivalve Babinka, maybe?

Babinka sp. is articulated, isn't it? (pictures from some I have below)

Very nice too.

Just an idea.

Is it not a hinge at the top of the last two photos?

An inarticulate brachiopod?

In fact, that's the second opinion about a possible inarticulate brachiopod. The other is a monster-size hyolith.

Opinions are welcome.

Thanks

Yes, I originally thought a botsfordiid brachiopod, but they never made it to the end of the Cambrian.

Still, with the Fezouata anything is possible!
