Fossil Id Help Surface Find Texas

Went Canoeing with a friend of mine this weekend and came across of the following on a sandbar. Any idea on what we found? Cow/Bison/Horse?  Can send more photos if needed. I agree with cow/bison jaw, but the smaller piece could be the base of an antler maybe. Where in Texas we’re they found? The answer may eliminate the possibility of mosasaur

I agree, I don't see any of the common features I would associate with one, like the bumps along the base or the transitional part where it attaches to the skull.

The dimple on the top in the first photo of it does look right for the junction of the two.

Both were found in Robertson County. I am second guessing myself about the Bison/Cow Jaw is even being a fossil. The Blue tint in the teeth lead me to believe it was but now i am not sure anymore. Thoughts?

A good start would be to lightly tap the jaw with something like a spoon. A mineralized fossil will have a high pitched sound. A modern bone will have more of a low tunk sound.

The test is just one thing to consider though.

Try to burn a little surface of the bone, if it smells, this is not fossil.
