Help Needed -Anatomy Feature Identification

Recommended Posts

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help me identify some of the key anatomical features of the calyx of this crinoid (Apiocrinites elegans) and any anatomical features of this brachiopod (specimen unknown). I have trawled and searched but am having limited success so thought there might be a fair few people that would be able to lend a helping hand on here!

cheers

It is a bivalve at the top, not a brachiopod.

It looks to be a valve of something like Venericardia.

On the exterior you can clearly see the ribs and growth lines, inside under beak are 'teeth' and one can see the palial line and muscle adductor scars.

The crinoid shows ten clear arm bases on the calyx and probably details of the calyx plates.
