Shark Tooth Identification Help

Recommended Posts

babcockcarrie2019

I recently found this shark tooth on the beach in Wild Dunes, South Carolina.  Can anyone help me identify what kind of shark this is from?  Age of the tooth?

Great white tooth. I'm not familiar with the age of Wild Dunes, SC, but it should be Miocene or younger.

Yes. The great white evolved serrations around 6 million years ago. Your tooth is probably 3-5 million years old.
