Bartlebee Posted August 2 Share Posted August 2 I live in the mountains of Cibola County NM, lots of ancient volcanos. I was gathering limestone rocks for my rock wall I’m building and noticed this. I know fossils are pretty common in these rocks, it looks like the spiral of a snail or something. Anyone know what it is? Link to post Share on other sites
Fossildude19 Posted August 2 Share Posted August 2 Possibly an ichnofossil or sedimentary structure. Could also just be some sort of mineral inclusion in the rock. Not really seeing any detail that would point to anything else. Link to post Share on other sites

Do some digging on google and on this site. A big part of the fossil hunting hobby is bookwork and study to increase your chances of getting " the good stuff". Link to post Share on other sites
