Is this petrified wood?

Is this petrified wood? I found it in rock on the Yorkshire coast

Can we see a view of the broken edges?

Is there wood grain/growth rings visible on those sides?

It looked more like driftwood to me, but if you found it in rock, I’d say it looks more like lignitized wood than petrified.

Sometimes it's kind of grades in between the two. This kind of looks that way to me.

So this would be more of a limb cast, rather than petrified wood.

This is quite possible. Without closer study, perhaps microscopic, of a prepared surface I think it would be hard to say for certain, however. The structure of wood is not always apparent.
