fossil ID. big bone(?) with "channels"

I found these 2 bones along the Yukon River in central Alaska. I'm not sure what part of the body they are. The d arker ones have "channels" at one end. they came from the area a am finding numerous bones fromDSCF2370.thumb.JPG.ef0862a81e49e9afaf93f865728e2b1d.JPG

I wonder if the channels are just how it happens to have weathered? Seems like we're mostly seeing the interior of the bone?
