TSCannon
Hi all - found this in what I believe is an Eagle Ford exposure in Central Texas. I’m still working on my ID skills. Can anyone get it down to genus/species? @EPIKLULSXDDDDD this seems like it would be in your wheelhouse. Thanks in advance!
bthemoose
Perhaps a posterior Cretoxyrhina mantelli? 2
EPIKLULSXDDDDD
Matrix and tooth look like Cenomanian Boudlin Flags material (Eagle Ford) and I agree with @bthemoose identification. Cretoxyrhina is usually not thought of as having cusplets, but older species like C. agassizensis (what I believe you have) had yet to completely eliminate them as younger species later did. Where there's one tooth, there's likely more so keep an eye out. Check out my Central TX shark tooth guide if you haven't already . It includes species from the same fm.

I’ve definitely read through your tooth guide - I actually have it bookmarked on my phone! It’s one of the best resources I’ve found for the Austin area. Extremely useful and informative.
