Fossil fish on Sheppey are usually only found as fragments, if you are very lucky you might find a complete skull, This fish the most complete to be found to date and is totally unique.

Cool find! Is that matrix really hard? It looks like it. Please post pix after you prep it out

Great find, Fossildan! wub.gif

Any plans to donate it to a museum, due to it's scientific value?

Thanks guys, yes the matrix is very hard on these specimens. And yes i will post pics once it's prepared. Funny you should ask if im going to donate it as I had the London natural history museum visit my house on the 12th may as they are interested in buying some of the collection. so I found this beauty just in time for them to see it :D

The only problem with donating any specimens of scientific value is that I would'nt have much of a collection left, Im actually trying to raise enough funds to open a museum here on the Isle Of Sheppey, Any donations welcome ;)
