Palm-sized piece roughly 80g in weight, from the previous entry. Transmitted light through the deepest portion of the piece displays the amber's deep red coloration.

Correction: After reviewing various publications and stratigraphic diagrams of the South Sumatra Basin, and comparing these with information from the seller, I've come to revise the provenance and age of this particular specimen (and others in the lot): it comes from the island of Sumatra, and from the Gumai, Air Benakat, or Muara Enim Formations; the age ranges from ~30-6.3 Ma. There are several different names, which vary by publication, for the Formations throughout the South Sumatra Basin and its Sub-Basins.
