Picked it up initially because I thought it was a huge belemnite, but it definitely isn't. Not sure what it is, though! Man-made? Rock? Something else?

Confirmed immediately and definitively on Dorset Fossil Hunters Facebook group to be a "carbon electrode from an old dry cell battery". Definitely not anything I would've guessed!
