Sun bear and Asian black bear

Psittacosaurus

Canine comparison between the sun bear and the Asian black bear

The interesting part about the sun bear is that it almost looks like it has serrations; but no, Caniforms don't have serrations, or at least active ones.

For many Caniforms, if not all, microscopic concave/convex structures at the "blade" form a column of mini parallel cracks as the animal ages. These can very well be the ancestors of serrations in Carnivoran canines (probably how Homotherine serrations started). I doubt that Caniforms will ever develop actual serrations since most of their diet is a lot less carnivorous than Feliforms.
