Found in one of the Muncie Creek Phosphatic nodules from the Iola formation (304-309mya). I originally thought it was a crustacean claw material or trilobite glabella until a friend of mine found something I never heard of before, a cyclidan. I immediately recognized the shape and searched through my old collection.

 

I donated this specimen almost a year ago to Dr. Carrie E. Schweitzer, who CT scanned it and uncovered remarkably detailed internal structures, including appendages preserved within the concretion. The three dimensional preservation alone makes it publication worthy. I will update in the future as the story progresses.
