    Pet wood or partial tooth?

I have looked under magnification but can't find any wood cell structure so this one is throwing me off but still leaning toward wood. Under magnification I did find hairline striations but those can also be found in some enamel. This piece is also polished looking but it is as it was found could it be a tooth fragment?.

    vomit??

is this some sort of vomit?? or something else? it is actually lighter than stone would be and gives me the idea more of plant material than bones or shell...perhaps some sort of bamboo plant like shoots and ground material?? last two pics are of a petrified piece of a bamboo like plant also found in same vicinity. found in gravel load from Brazos river west of Houston Texas.

    seed?...shell? or other?

  7. I visited Houston, TX at the beginning of November of this year and decided to visit the Houston Museum of Natural History. It was worth the trip. It is a beautiful museum with great exibits. Especially the Paleontology Hall. The exhibits were great, nice variety and the vertebrates were excellent. MY only gripe is that it it dark in there , makes for highlighting the exhibits but murder on cell phone pictures. If you go to shoot pix use a camers with a good low light setting. I apologize for a couple of the pix but see above. I shot these pix to highlight the museum and not to provide fossil identification. So enjoy the pretty fossils.
  8. Is this what it looks like? ..... a crayfish? found in gravel drive west of Houston texas gravel from Brazos River. and from the looks of the shape of the stone there could be more lurking inside....sorry about photo quality will take more with good camera later am having a problem getting the photos to upload from camera.
