Hello, I saw this moroccan Plesiosaurus skull for sale today and wondered If its genuine or not. Some teeth are missing which I think wouldnt if its completly fake to make it more valuebale, and the overall look is good to me, but im not an expert on moroccan fakes but if its one, its definitly better than the usual composite skulls. It was apparently found in Ben Grier, morocco.

We found this skull in the Peace River in south central FL. Can anyone help to ID? Many of the people I was with who are FL natives, and frequent fossil hunters, seemed to believe it is alligator. But I’m not convinced. It doesn’t resemble any of the crocodilia species. It lacks all teeth (and tooth cavities) and the overall shape is completely different. Based on the fused vertebrae at the base of the skull and the dental formation, I would have suggested either a bird or, more likely, of a marine species? On a not so serious note, I also would have been more inclined to believe it was of Jar Jar Binx. 😅

Hi all, Thanks so much for the kind feedback on my Berthasaura reconstruction. Here is another example of my work: A 'juvenile' tyrannosaur skull based loosely on Jane (BMRP 2002.4.1) I'm aware of the debates regarding age and species however I have just approached this as younger individual. Thanks so much for checking out my sculpt. I'm printing a prototype as we speak, I'll post some updates on here once its assembled!

Hello, I recently found several concentrations of large animal bones above a small creek in central Oklahoma. There are at least four different clusterings of bones, all within about 50-100 yards of the creek length, and each spot contains what appears to be bones from multiple large mammals (cow size) ranging from leg bones to ribs to vertebrae to partial skulls and jaws. None of the bones appear to be particularly recent, and some are pretty degraded (skulls that are easy to break apart, cracked teeth). This location is also along the Chisholm Trail that ran N-S through Oklahoma in the mid-late 1800s. I haven't found any tools or weapons of any kind in the area, and haven't noticed any obvious markings on bones that might indicate butchering, hunting, etc. One skull recovered so far (not included in the pics below) has been confidently ID'd as an elk based on the presence of two lacrimal ducts in the front of the eye orbits. I was wondering if anyone is able to give an ID on any of the additional bones below with some level of confidence. I hope it is okay to include all of these pics in a single post (apologies if not and I can repost individually). Here is the most intact skull I have found, it is 24 cm across at its widest point: Here are lower jaw bones recovered so far. From what I have read online, it seems like the orientation of the mandibular notch is more like a cow than a bison, but the M3 teeth seem to be on the large side for a cow (upper 30s to a little over 40mm): Here are two closeups of the M3 tooth from the single jawbone in the picture above: A femur that is ca. 12.5-13cm wide at the condylar end: Last but not least, here are some pretty weathered upper teeth: Thanks again if anyone has the time and inclination to offer insight on any of these finds. Maybe they are just cow through and through, but I thought I would check just in case.

Mosasaurus skull from the Atlas Mountains, Morocco

While browsing for Mosasaurus fossils, I came across a complete Mosasaur skull. I thought this to be rather unusual, especially since it wasn't extremely expensive. The seller listed it for around [price redacted] dollars, which I believe to be rather cheap. The seller claims that it is a real skull and that it has had a bit of reconstruction done on it. The deal seems a bit too good to be true, especially since it's coming from Morocco, which alone is a red flag. Should I purchase it, or will I get scammed by a fake?

Howdy all, Does anyone know what this appalachiosaurus skull reconstruction is based on? I've seen it and another that looks more like a Dryptosaurus and I'm not sure which is the correct one based on the holotype.

I encountered this skull on ebay. He told me he collected those skulls from China decades ago and tried to sell a small portion of it. The pic looked authentic to me especially the seller's intro about this item. Wondering if any of you can give your opinion.

Hello, i found this piece of skull about a year ago on the beach of Hejlsminde, Denmark. All of the ear-bones are still in place and growth lines are still visible, so its most likely not fossilized and from a young animal. Any help would be appreciated.

OK, so I am from Kentucky. I don't know anything about paleontology but I love collecting geodes and other rocks. I like any that are unique. That said, I am here to show this rock that I don't think is really a rock. It feels different, kind of like a rock but not a rock, and is lighter than a rock would be. It did withstand 4 days in the tumbler though. so I am going to try to include a picture. Please let me know what you think!

Help me to identify this please? I found it the other day Southeast Tennessee. Tried to add a video which gives better viewpoint on the skull. It would not let me add it. So I’m new to this site, but if anybody wants to see more of it, I have more than other photos. There’s other stuff I found in the general area that I do not know what it is. Any help will be much appreciated. The picture of the item it looks like a thing or something to that effect maybe a tooth was found directly under photo four through six. When I pulled up that stone it appeared to me to be some sort of reptile, perhaps a snake or something. And in the soil immediately underneath it was what appeared to be a fang or tooth .
