Guess what?... ...porcupine butt! In search of animals made of stone...any encounters with those of flesh and bone?

Meatballs containing a tiny bit of Mammoth DNA have been created. If safe, would anyone eat meat such as Mammoth that only contained cells cloned from extinct animals? Would this meat alleviate ethical concerns so that some vegetarians would eat them so long as the animal did not become conscience? I am working on a personal project that Google has chosen to not help me with, so I figured that someone here on the forum could help me. I am trying to find out what animals died at the beginning of the ice age because of the ice age, Google just tells me animals that died at the end of the ice age (mammoths, mastodons, sloths, etc.). I'll need any help I can get. Thanks!

I live in Washington, and have lived in Washington since 2017. I wanted to go fossil hunting around Sucia and other places but I am unable too right now. I was looking at marbles around my house, I found a few impressions in the rock that looked like fossils but they really were not. I then saw a stone that had an impression that looked like a fossil and was most convincing (at the time), but I have heavy doubts. Is it a fossil and if so what invertebrate (or even chordate) is it? sorry for the quality, I will take better pictures later

Hey all! I seen some member's collections and wow, you all have some awesome pieces, the type of things I hope to add to my collection someday. I've only been seriously collecting for about half a year and am still in the early process of learning about ancient life and the science surrounding it, but I wanted to post what I have thus far. About a quarter of the collection is things I collected during my childhood, but my favorite stuff is things I've found and/or bought this year, which is the majority.(after learning how to finally identify fossils a little better so I didn't think they were just rocks and move along) There's a couple more insignificant things I don't have on these shelves but it's really crowded and I need to get a larger display before I add them. First pic is my display in it's entirety. This second image is of the top shelf, there's no particular rhyme or reason yet, as in nothing is placed in any way regarding age, type, etc, I just put the stuff I like the best at the top. This is mostly dino bones, and though it looks like quite a few different fragments, most of them are from a single unidentified bone I found completely shattered after a flood a few years ago caused a cliff to crumble. (at least I assume that's why the cliff crumbled) One bivalve of some sort, dino teeth, ceratopsian bones (frill I found, rib which I bought, caudal vertebra possibly ceratopsian, thank you to the users on this forum that helped me identify the frill and vertebra as well as the tyrannosaurus tooth) and an ammonite that I found. Spinosaurus tooth, another unidentified tooth, knightia. Some of the bones in the top display haven't been cleaned and prepared as of yet. The second image is just a bunch of random stuff. Shark and alligator teeth, fossil plant imprints, animals in resin, a nile croc skull, minerals, another ammonite & a trilobite, etc. Third shelf is kind of neat, it's mostly filled with bones a customer of mine found and gave to me of very old bison that were chased off a cliff by native hunters. They were washed out of banks along the Red Deer River and aren't completely fossilized. Also some petrified wood.

Are there terrestrial animal fossils in Holzmaden. I was thinking that there might be because there is fossil wood in Holzmaden.

Hello i went to the river today in central alberta and found these fossils i believe one is petrified wood but it also has a translucent mineral in it?? I think?? And orange mineral around it which i assume is sap amber??? the size of these rocks are around a baseball please help identify all of them and offer info ill greatly appreciate it first two pictures are of opposite sides same as the other two.

I have some pictures of weird creatures that I had been collecting online(pictures, not creatures), but never getting around to anything with them, and I keep having to delete them to make room, so I figured I'd just make a thread dedicated to the idea, instead of a thread each time there's a crazy knew whatever I come across. Please feel free to give any info or thoughts, answers or questions about anything brought up, and if there's any weird or particularly cool creature you want to mention, go ahead and post about it, preferably with a picture. it's ok if you don't have a picture, for instance someone might not even know what it's called, and can only describe it some. go right ahead and bring up something new anytime, or to bring something from earlier back up, even if it hasn't been talked about in awhile. If you're posting about something that's not currently being talked about, just be sure to either start by quoting something about it from before, or just preface your post with what thing you're talking about, that way people will know what you're talking about, and won't get confused. Hello everyone, my mother find this in a box with many amonits, I don't know if it's even a fossil but for me it looks like a tooth. Is it really a tooth and if it is, from witch animal? Thank you
