Hi all, I have always had an interest in fossils and I am currently working on a project through my college, sifting through microscopic materials, and trying to identify them. Our college just upgraded to better equipment which is making our job a lot easier! I collect fossils, and hope to be able to go out and find some over the summer. I do have a certification in southwestern archeology, and can try and look at anything that might be man made, but anything outside of the southwest I cant guarantee.

I took this tooth as payment for my services on a heat pump, even though I’m not a professional archaeologist, I have access to same books as they do. I was told this was a “junior mastodon tooth” ?

Hi, I found this on a hike on a nature walk outside of Paris. It looks like an index finger with wrinkles and nail, but I may be mistaken. Can you help identify this object? It is made of solid rock.

Hi guys! I have something new here and it's very interesting, i think i found a cat claw. You already know that i found in my garden many stuff from Neolithic Vinca culture, such as figurines, pottery, stones tools, microliths and animal bones and teeth as well. So again, i found some cool bones as this claw, but i'm unsure if it belongs to some bigger carnivorous mammal. I compared it with Felis silvestris claw core but it's bigger. I don't know much about carnivorous mammals from Neolithic period but i think that they are the same as today like wolves, bears, lynx, jackals ... If someone would like to help me out identifying this claw it would be much appreciated. Btw, near the claw is i believe some paw bone as well ... Both are quite small and smaller than this battery which i put as a scale . Please help ! Darko

Hello fellow members, I recently took a trip down to Crystal Beach, in Bolivar peninsula, Texas. I was on the beach for about an hour. I kept on finding small sized fossilized fragments of bone (probably from the late Pleistocene Beaumont Clays). I found 4 small pieces this past Monday. They are all just small fragments, probably not identifiable. I was about to go back to the car after walking for about 2 miles on the beach, when I stumbled upon this. It has a hole in it, and is oddly symmetrical. It looks like it’s made out of pottery. I really don’t know what else this could be, other than a Native American artifact. Let me know what y’all think this could be.
