  1. I was hunting for other locomotion break-downs tonight for my animation class and happened upon a cool project that uses live action footage of similar vertebrates, xray scans, trackway measurements and data to 'recreate' a probable gait for an extinct Orobates pabsti. It was interesting to see the kinematic animations / models that were used to inform the final robotic motion. Curious if any artists were involved. https://www.scienceandtechnologyresearchnews.com/a-robot-recreates-the-walk-of-a-300-million-year-old-animal/ " Using the fossil and fossilized footprints o

  3. Theropod dinosaur teeth are usually ziphodont, but the morphology of the denticles varies between species and clades. Gorgosaurus (a tyrannosaurid) and Dromaeosaurus (a dromaeosaurid) both have rectangular denticles despite differences in body size and shape and tooth size. Saurornitholestes (a dromaeosaurid) has pointed denticles that, over time, can wear down to resemble those of Dromaeosaurus. Troodontids (like Troodon) have unique hooked denticles that differ significantly from those of dromaeosaurids. Paper looks at the biomechanics of these different morphologies, not for everyone but i
  4. I was around six years old, I suppose, when the rest of my life began - I can recall very few details about myself, but the sequence of events that unfolded remain as clear as day. My godparents had arrived at our old family home for a visit and brought me a present. Since they knew that every kid, myself included, went through a dinosaur phase, they handed me something a little different than I was expecting: a little fossil fish. Many years later, that fish is still sitting beside me on my desk at university. Most of you will recognize this immediately as a very stan
  5. Once again,i find myself trying to utter the word "future classic" I won't anymore,as the reactions of this Forum are becoming increasingly beyond analysis to me. It's a dud, please do not read it,it's BAD beyond words Pass this one by,it's long, tedious, and i believe the phrase is "technical" *also uninformative :Frey,Kellner,Hone,Witton,Wellnhofer,Dallavecchia,Witmer,Doederlein,Unwin,Martill,Fiorillo
