Hello all, I posted a tooth yesterday that you kindly identified for me, and I have a few more fossils that I found that I would really appreciate an identification on. All found on Zandmotor beach, The Netherlands. There are four specimens: 1 A bone with a hole in the middle, seems like a vertebrae(??). Any idea what fragment it really is and maybe what kind of animal it came from? Length: 2.5 cm 2 A bone that I would also like any information about, although it might be really hard to identify. - 4 cm 3 Small, flatter bone. - 4.5 cm 4 Are these petrified wood by any chance? They do feel like a rock and also sound like such when I gently hit them with another rock. There are 3 pieces in total that I have shared. - around 6 cm.

New to fossil forum - 1st post! I read info for nubs & tried to follow with clear photos with measurements. I found this (what looks like to me) bone loose in a partially dry creek bed in St Louis, Missouri county. Fossilized with chalcedony? Distal femur?

Any idea if this bone is modern or fossil and what animal it belongs to? Found on the beach in the Netherlands. I think it's modern but it does have a very hard texture. Sometimes I feel very annoying with my posts on here as I am a beginner but I just want to make sure. Thank you!

Hi Friends, Glad to be here. I am mostly on this forum to help ID bone artifacts to support my current obsession with pre-Clovis stone tools and culture in North America. Most people think I'm nuts looking at all these rocks (my wife especially), but I think identifying the bones will much better gauge my sanity. Looking forward to it. Trout

Found this in a gravel deposit on the Brazos River. I'm totally new to this, but I think it's a tooth. Measures 2 1/2" × 1 3/8". Thoughts? EDIT *Sorry if this posted to the wrong place.

Hello Fossil friends! I have a couple fossils(?) I'm going to see if I can get help identifying. I found all of them in the same local area of a river shore in northeastern Kansas, so I'm assuming Pennsylvanian time frame. I have some fossils that are obvious shells and coral, but these I'm not sure and would like your input! If you need more photos or angles, let me know. #1 I think is a fish vertebrae that's slightly flattened. It's about 1 cm x .3 cm.

Hi. Went to Big Brook again today. I will post everything in hunting trip later. But I wanted to post one of my findings. I think I found the rare chicken bone. Haha. Just want to make sure it’s not something better. Thanks for any feedback.

What are the differences between marine mammals and land mammals?
Digi posted a topic in Questions & Answers
In places where you can find both land mammal bone fragments and marine mammal bone fragments, how can you tell the difference? Would marine mammals have denser bones? Would hollow bones (marrow eaten out or other) be an indicator of land mammals?- 4 replies

Hey Guys, I'm new to site and was wondering if you could give me hand in distinguishing whether this interesting looking find is actually a bone or not. I was found in Monmouth county NJ at the Big Brook fossil site. Best Dan
