Not sure what to make of this one but sure looked like a piece of vertebrae when I saw it!

I had purchased a few items from an estate sale of a gentlemen who was an archeologist that had past and this was in the lot. I was curious if this could be a fossilized bone? The texture seemed to be different than a rock, but not sure. Location was in southern Tennessee, but unsure of his travels. I don’t believe this could be enough to identify which species.

I found this in Charles County, Maryland along the Potomac River along with the typical ray plates and shark's teeth. Any thoughts?

Found in White Fish, Montana. Been told both could be bones of some sort, also been told they’re not. Idk much about much. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

I just went fossil hunting today and found this. Is it a bone or just a rock? If so what is it? It is found in Beaumaris in Victoria. A majority of fossils are 6-5 million years old. I have theories as to what it is if it is a fossil, but I am unsure. I was thinking a an extinct penguin upper wing bone or a Pelagornis shin bone, maybe even a seal metatarsal. Hello everyone, this is my first post so I hope I'm doing this properly. Some months ago I was visiting family in Ohio and we went fossil hunting, which is a popular activity there. Here are the details: Location found: Lebanon, Ohio (in a small riverbed) Dimensions: Height: 3.8cm Width: 2.6cm I don't have a scale to weigh it, but it is heavy the way a stone of its size would be. (I know that's a terrible way to describe the weight but I can't think of what to compare it to) It also passed the "tongue test" which I read about during my research about fossil identification. At first I thought perhaps it was a mastodon tusk segment. I read online ice age era fossils have been found in the area I was at due to it being glaciated. Thank you all so much for reading and for helping. I am completely inexperienced and uneducated in paleontology, but I am very interested. Cheers!

Hello, I found this yesterday on the beach at Lake Erie in Pa. I was wondering if anyone might know what it is. It’s worn smooth from the crashing waves as it was partially in the lake water. The brown part seems to have a fine porous to it and it is definitely something separate from the gray stone surrounding it. Thank you for any help. IMG_0740.mov

first what I think might be a bone. It's about the same length as my pinkie finger and as big around as my ring finger. I keep forgetting to put something in the pic for reference. Sorry about that.

Found this a few years back in the Peace River around Wauchula Florida. Is it a whole piece of something really worn or a broken piece of something. It's porous but heavy.

I picked this up on the beach yesterday. It is heavy and has some characteristics of bone but internal structure is more rock-like. Would love help with identifying.

I found this strange cubed rock or maybe bone in a creek bed right along the Platte River in eastern Nebraska. The Pawnee tribes used to have a village only about 3 miles down the river from where I found it. I also found a piece of smoky hills jasper along with it. It’s almost a perfect cube with one side having a tiny ledge. It’s smooth on 4 sides and has sort of a sanded down feel on the other two which would make your top and bottom. I do not believe it is sandstone by location and other examples I’ve seen . Very hard, and somewhat heavy for its size. The lick test tells me it’s bone but I am totally unsure here. I tried to get close up pictures of texture.

I did not find this.. but I live in Oklahoma city and the person who did find it has passed. They had a big collection and this was found along with other old Indian seashells (They all had holes drilled in them) . Any help would be awesome. T.I.A. !! Found some specimens while teeth hunting in a creek that feeds the Cooper River in South Carolina. I think the big tooth may be great white or mako. Not sure about the smaller ones. Also found several pieces that appear to be bone. Anybody got any thoughts on what I've got? *now numbered for for easier viewing.

Hey, wondering if anyone could ID this… tooth I think? Found it in a creek near the peace river my guess is that its some type of mammoth tooth but im not entirely sure. Last photo is the best results of the trip’s finds from the creek.
