Hey folks! Im relatively new to looking for buried teeth, bones and such. I am not new to digging holes and finding things. Given that i moved a number of years ago as a yankee refugee, I need to branch out from digging privies, dumps and swinging the machine..thanks for having me.

I found a old bottle stopper in the creek today in the creek
matthew textor posted a topic in Fossil Hunting Trips
Hi everyone this is matt again today in the creek while I was fossil hunting I came across a very old bottle stopper here is a photo of the find -
My 18th trip to Big Brook this morning. Trying to get to other spots not just the same honey holes. Explored the Kovalski tributary today. A lot of downed trees to climb over or under. Unfortunately not very productive. My most interesting finds were a couple of broken bottles; one Hunyadi Janos Saxlehner Bitterquelle circa 1900 and the other the bottom of what looks like a wine bottle but very thick and clearly not made in a modern bottle factory. My most plentiful finds were the garbage - metal, plastic and mostly glass - which I pick up and carry out. I’ll be back next week and already psyched to go

I hunted a remote stretch in Northeast Texas and found a nice variety of items. The vert is from a good size mosasaur. The sawfish teeth always seem to be broken. I found some small shark teeth and a piece of cretaceous turtle shell. The bottles are from the 1930's and 1940's. I really like the Groves Tasteless Chill Tonic bottle. I posted a little info on the old bottles. We saw at least twenty wild hogs in one pack crossing the creek and one giant solo wild boar.

Here's a couple of quick hunts I forgot to post from the last two weeks. Post Oak Creek and North Sulphur River Texas. I really like the ammonites.

Just found out about this today: DO NOT FORGET THE ONLY ARTIFACT SHOW IN FLORIDA IS AT THE END OF THIS MONTH. SAT THE 25TH. LOTS OF FOSSILS AND ANTIQUE BOTTLES AS WELL. 3 weeks from tomorrow; I will be there mostly because I am starved for fossil related activities. 2830 Gulf Trace Blvd, Holiday, Florida, 34691 (just North of Tampa on the Gulf). Plus my hunting buddy loves Artifacts and bottles

I haven't had much time to hunt lately but I did manage to squeeze in a North Sulphur River creek hunt. My finds were not great but I did manage to find a nice variety. The fossil horse cannon bone is probably my favorite due to the preservation. It's solid rock. Lol my grandson carried it around the house all night when I brought it home. The Xiphactinus vert, old bottles and artifacts were a nice bonus to the usual Mosasaur material. This creek has some killer flint in it so I can see a nice arrowhead coming soon.
