Hey everyone! Posting on behalf of a friend who isn’t on TFF - he found this very small jaw section with a tooth in it in the Gainesville area. It looks like a deer tooth to me - but I’ve never seen a deer tooth this small. The crown length is 0.25”/6mm. @Shellseeker @Harry Pristis

Found yesterday in the Kansas River. I'm thinking it's probably just a button buck skull cap. Although I really want it to be from an antilocaprid. But I thought its worth the post for me because it's my first part of a skull Ive ever found in the river. But I can't distinguish personally. I'm not the best at telling Kansas river modern stained bones from permineralized bones sometimes too, and I understand if it's unidentifiable beyond cervid even. Thanks

Hey y'all! Was wondering if I could get some help ID'ing this tooth that I found in Post Oak Creek this evening. I asked the Dallas Paleo Group on FB and a couple of people said it looked maybe human (also pig), but I am not that lucky lol (not that I am saying they are wrong or that I don't value their ID! I don't know enough on the subject to draw a conclusion) I thought I would come here for some second opinions <3 Please ignore the dime. And thank you in advance. I fully expect it to be a deer or cow or something xD (I only just posted in the FB group about an hour ago so the discussion is still going)

I have been searching for a list of cervidae genera or species, I have found a list of over 50 extant species but I haven't found much on extinct species. I saw they've been around for about 20 million years and know there has to be many more than the few Ive seen. My searching has only led me to extant species and about 5 extinct. Help would be much appreciated thanks
