    Is this a fossil?

Please look at all the images. If not a fossil, could this be an artifact?

Looks like microfossils on this one…

Ya’ll look closely at this. Thank you.

    Finds in the past 5yrs

Unidentified finds in northeast Arkansas on Crowley‘s Ridge.
  4. I’m struggling to identify this. The closest I’ve found is possibly a fossilized crayfish gastrolith. But I could be way off. I’m very new to fossil ID. I do find a lot of marine life fossils in my area. I had thought perhaps brachiopod, but it looks nothing like my other one. I’ve included a photo of the unidentified piece along side my brachiopod so if I have misidentified it please correct me. Thanks in advance. Details: Northeast Arkansas Mississippi Alluvial plain Along the Eastern edge of Crowley’s Ridge I’m 93% certain the material is quartz (chert)

    Crowley’s Ridge Marine Fossils?

These were recently found by a close relative of mine on one of the highest points on Crowley’s Ridge in NE Arkansas. Not found in or beside a creek or gravel pit but all were found within close proximity of each other. Thanks for any advice or comments you can add!

    Petrified Wood Identification

I would rather identify most any fossil other than petrified wood! Not a botanist, so when I referred to my ancient copies of Gems & Mineral magazines from March to August of 1960 and read Virginia Page's "How to Identify Fossil Wood", I got lost in a hurry. I'm trying to identify wood from the Cretaceous in Southeast Missouri at Crowley's Ridge. I have a polished cross-section image and am hoping someone can identify it for my fossil database. I don't have a longitudinal section, but could do one if that is necessary.

    Burrow, Bone, or mineralized iron

Below are 2 items found on the same day after a few days of heavy rain/high creek water. Both of these are heavy and have a hard iron-like shell or covering. The 2nd item was split into 2 pieces when I found it. It is made of the same material as the first. We have iron in our well water at the base of the ridge so I’m very familiar with the color and the smell of iron. These items don’t usually wash up in the creek. I picked them up because their unusual shape and texture contrasted with the creek’s normal sand and gravel.

    2 similar ironized fossils?

I’m only posting these because of the similarities in the 2 pieces. Very heavy iron material found in same creek in Arkansas near the Missouri border. Soon to be added to my rock garden.

    Tabulate Coral? Am I right?

I need help identifying this one. Thanks

    Antler, Bone, Other?

These 2 items were found close to each other in a creek bed in Northeast Arkansas near the Missouri border on Crowley’s Ridge. Because of the heavy flooding during the year that these were found, I organized my finds according to date. Every flash flood seemed to bring different oddities.

    Petrified wood or ???

Hi everyone, I enjoy finding agates and fossils along eroding sections of Crowley's Ridge, a ridge of glacial deposits that runs through eastern Arkansas into southeastern Missouri. I appreciate your help ID'ing this chunk of something. As I recall, it's around 15cm long, around 7cm wide. I'll measure it tonight. Most of the petrified wood I find along the ridge is very dark: predominant colors are blacks, browns, and dark reds. I'll include a couple of samples in a picture below Both of those specimens are 7-10cm across. Both look a shade darker in "person." This is light to medium grey (just a shade lighter than it appears in the pics). The growth/deposit rings look interesting. Any thoughts? I appreciate all information/opinions on the grey chunk or the two smaller pieces.
